Officers were dispatched to the Travelodge Motel on Columbia Avenue in East Hempfield around 5:45 p.m. last Friday, where the female victim was in the office and bleeding profusely from her nose, township police said.
She and a man, later identified as Stephon Walls, had been renting a room at the motel when they began arguing, police said.
During the argument, Walls smashed the television inside the room causing the woman to flee toward the motel office in fear of her own safety, authorities said.
Walls chased after and caught up with her, at which point he punched her in the face and then bit her nose, police said.
EMS was called to the scene and the woman was transported to an area hospital for treatment, police said.
Walls, who fled on foot prior to arrival of police, was located hiding at a nearby property, authorities said.
He was charged with the following:
- (1) count each of: Aggravated Assault (F1);
- Simple Assault (M2);
- Unlawful Restraint (M1);
- and Criminal Mischief (Sum.)
He was transported to Lancaster County Prison for central arraignment.
